As a first-generation college student, I understand firsthand the transformative role education can play in helping people lead more purposeful, productive, and prosperous lives. Summit aims to empower students and their families to take control of the college admissions process by equipping them with personalized strategy and support to maximize their results.

About

Josh Berger is an admissions strategist who has guided over 200 families nationwide in navigating the complexities of the college application process, empowering students to share themselves and their stories as creatively, compellingly, and authentically as possible.

His mission is to help students not only earn admission into schools they love but also enjoy the journey of getting there while developing a deeper understanding of themselves, their interests, and their goals.

A native Orange County resident, Josh was a student within Irvine Unified School District before attending Chapman University in 2014, where he studied Business along with Leadership Studies.

After graduating summa cum laude in 2018, Josh was the Director of Development for the Freedom Writers Foundation. There, he managed a budget of over $1 million and bolstered his passion for education equity, which has propelled his future endeavors.

Today, he utilizes a leadership philosophy inspired by his time working closely alongside renowned educator and Executive Director of the Freedom Writers Foundation, Erin Gruwell, which focuses on helping others discover, develop, and share their best selves.

The college application process is often described as stressful, demoralizing, and something to fear. This wasn't our experience with Josh Berger. Josh doesn’t tell his clients what to do; instead, he asks expertly crafted and expertly timed questions to draw out ideas about who they are, what’s important to them, and who they aspire to be.
